The main programme to be screened on the square, Eco.Doc, features the films on ecology issues.
The programme consists of four films; but the movie of special interest for those who live in Sakhalin is «Let There Be Light» by Mila Aung-Thwin and Van Royko. It follows a story of dedicated scientists representing 37 countries who are building an artificial star in a small village in the southern France. And only few know that this idea first appeared in Sakhalin in the 1950s, and is connected to the prominent physicist Oleg Lavrentiev.
