Early in the summer season, Shuhei Amamiya, a fifth grade boy, moves to a rural town. He introduces his classmates to his dream of becoming a professional pianist. Quickly, he becomes the target of «Kimpira,» the class bully, who tells Shuhei to go test his courage by playing a «broken shabby piano» left in the forest near to the school. After school, Ichinose Kai, a boy in the same class, takes Shuuhei to the forest. When Shuuhei tries to play he fails, but Kai plays a wonderful song.
