A story of two young female veterans who returned to post-war Leningrad and are trying to find a new peaceful life, when all around them, and most importantly, inside them are ruins.

Born in 1991 in Nalchik. In 2015 he graduated the directors’ workshop of Aleksandr. Sokurov at H.M. Berbekov Kabardino-Balkarian State University. During the training, he shot several feature films and documentaries. His short film "First me" (2014) was included in the «Global Russians» almanac. The directorial debut in the full-length film, the film “Closeness”, participated in the official competition “Un Certain Regard” of the 70th Cannes Film Festival, where he was awarded with the FIPRESCI prize of the International Film Press Federation. “Beanpole”, his second feature film, was selected for the official competition program of the 72nd Cannes Film Festival (“Un Certain Regard” program) and won two prizes at once - a prize for directing and a FIPRESCI prize by of the International Film Press Federation with the wording: “For the incredible aesthetics of cinema language and a unique story about post-war trauma.”
